Hello. This is the ninth session of ‘Dr. Tomato Protocol’.
Today I will be explaining stage three of the three stages of autism development and exacerbation process.
This third stage is a continuation from state one and two.
It can be explained as the process of various metabolic instabilities being created in children with autism and the worsening that follows.
There are three common phenomena observed from the urine organic acid test of children with autism spectrum disorder.
First, their antioxidant capacity is reduced.
Second, their liver function is degraded.
Third, their mitochondris function is also degraded. These are the common phenomenon.
With this, we can talk about the ‘three metabolic abnormalities’.
When these kinds of mmetabolic abnormalities are found,
doctors that use nutrients to try and treat autism, such as DAN doctors and functional medicine doctors prescribe the nutrient that fits the problem.
With this, the metabolic abnormalities found in the urine organic acid test are significantly improved.
But, does autism improve?
The answer is, there is no case of significant recovery.
THey only show mild recoveies.
They are satisfied only with very minimal improvements such as minimal improvements in anger and homologous behavior.
Currently, there are no cases of true successful treatment -being completely cured- from autism using nutrients only.
Why?
You can understand if you see the schematic diagram I introduced.
Although instability from metabolic abnormalities do cause autism exacerbation,
it is not the fundamenta reason behind autism development.
These three metabolic abnormalities progress in stage two,
and the reason behind them can be found in the developments in stage one.
In other words, toxic material created from SIBO are entering the rest of the body through bloodstream.
In addition to causing brain damage,
it can cause damage to tissue throughout the entier body by moving through the bloodstreams connected to the brain.
Second, we have to assume that material created from instability in the intestinal flora also creates bodywide inflammations.
If I add another one, the sensitive reaction to food caused from decreased digestive abilities,
which itself is caused from decreased autonomic nervous system abilities,
also causes inflammatory reactions.
From these three reactions, since inflammatory material continue to enter the brain, antitoxin ability is impaired, liver function is impaired,
and mitochondra function is impaired.
In other words, everything I mentioned here?
They are not the fundalental cause behind autism development,
but are results that derived from the cause of autism.
As the metabolic control ability goes through a cycle once again,
they are involved in the process of re-exacerbation and re-intensification.
From these reasons,
the effort many people make to treat autism using nutrients aren’t bad,
but they can’t give fundamental improvement.
In any case, this process is very improvement.
So, in general, when improvements are made in stage one and two,
stage three tends to naturally improve for young age kids.
This is why I focus on treating stage one and two,
and do follow up observation on stage three improvements.
However, in the case of children who do not improve well evenn in these three stages,
you have to be aware that chances are it will eventually progress to the
development of epilepsy.
I will say one last thing.
Autism spectrum disorder is neither born with or stuck with.
It is a progressive disease with continuous regression.
So, this is also on the schematic diagram, but what is at the end of regression?
